Four pillars, each built around how marketing actually creates value — sector leadership, industrial and enterprise excellence, measurable impact, and the special recognitions conferred by the Grand Jury.

This pillar recognises organisations demonstrating sustained marketing leadership within key industry sectors. Evaluation goes beyond campaign performance to assess how marketing strategy has contributed to business outcomes, competitive differentiation, and customer relationships over time.
Eligible sectorsThis pillar recognises organisations demonstrating excellence in marketing within industrial value chains and enterprise ecosystems — a significant gap in India’s awards landscape that CII is uniquely positioned to address.
Sub-categories and what they recogniseThis pillar recognises innovative marketing approaches that redefine how organisations engage with customers, deploy technology, or enter new markets.
Celebrating exceptional marketing leadership, creativity, business impact, and the power of marketing to drive meaningful social and organisational change. These awards are conferred by the Grand Jury and are not open for direct entry in the standard sense.
Awarded to an organisation that has demonstrably used marketing as a primary lever to drive business recovery, transformation, or renewed growth following a period of adversity or decline.
In place of a single ‘Marketer of the Year’, the CII Marketing Leadership Awards will annually recognise a curated cohort of 5–6 outstanding marketing leaders across India under the collective honour of Marketing Leaders of the Year. This construct reflects a deliberate philosophy: great marketing leadership in India is not singular — it is diverse, distributed, and multidimensional. By recognising a cohort rather than a single winner, the awards celebrate the breadth of marketing excellence — across sectors, scale, geography, and style of leadership.
Nominations may be submitted by CII member organisations, jury members, industry bodies, or through self-nomination, each supported by a 400-word statement addressing commercial impact, leadership, and professional contribution. The Grand Jury will select a final cohort of 5–6 Marketing Leaders of the Year, with full discretion over selection criteria, aiming for diversity of sector, organisational scale, and leadership tenure.
The most creatively compelling and effective marketing campaign of the year — judged on the strength of the idea, execution quality, and measurable impact.
Awarded to an organisation or brand that has used advertising and creative communication as a force for positive social change, addressing a meaningful societal or environmental issue while demonstrating the ability to create awareness, influence behaviour, and deliver measurable impact.
